Empty Bowls
You may have heard that the Windom Art School has agreed to make the bowls for the Fannin County Family Crisis Center’s spring fundraiser, Empty Bowls. We began the effort in late October, and I am happy to report that at last count we had 100 bowls completed or in some stage of construction. We are half way to our goal of 200 bowls! If you would like to contribute to the effort in support of this very worthwhile cause, you can help in two ways. You can volunteer to make bowls or you can donate towards the supply cost. Volunteering is a great way to try your hand at making ceramic or fused glass bowls. We’ll teach you everything you need to know. To participate, drop by the Windom Art School on Mondays or Tuesdays from 2-4pm, or Thursdays 1-5pm. These are our standing times. Other times are available, too - just let me know when you’d like to come. To donate to the supply fund, simply reply to this message and I’ll reach out to you.
New Etching Press
We’ve had an amazing opportunity to acquire an affordable etching press, adding a whole new dimension to our mixed media capabilities. If hand printing is your thing, or a thing you’ve always wanted to try, this is your chance to join our mint fresh printing studio.
Classes now Enrolling
Start 2025 with a gift to yourself and your own creativity. Signups are currently underway for:
Introduction to Fused Glass - 4 weeks, $125, all supplies included. Beginning Monday, 1/20/2025, 6-8pm.
Fundamentals of Photography - 8 weeks, $150, no supplies needed other than your camera. Beginning Saturday, 1/25/2025, 10am-noon.
Introduction to Hand Printing - 4 weeks, $125, all supplies included. Beginning Thursday, 1/23/2025, 6-8pm.

Studio Art
Our very talented and classically trained, Tatiana Murray, has openings in her painting and drawing classes for both adults and children of all ages. This semester, Tatiana is working on 1-2-3 point perspective in her homeschooled children’s classes, and has room in her Thursday and Friday sessions from 12-1 pm.
Adult watercolor classes are held on Saturdays, from 10-12 pm. New students are always welcome to join.
Tatiana is also starting a monthly watercolor class in Paris in conjunction with the Paris Art Study Group.
Finally, she is preparing students for the kids art contest coming up in Bonham this April .

Open Studio
Graduates of our Fused Glass and Hand Printing classes are eligible to join our Open Studio community, giving them continued access to the resources of the studio, particularly the kilns and the press. Open Studio is also a great way to be in community with, and inspired by, like minded people. Open Studio fees are $12.50 per session. Sessions are at least 2 hours (once we are in the studio, there’s no telling how long we will stay). We supply all tools and ancillary materials you need, and you supply your major materials such as glass, paper, and ink.
Creative Adventures
Looking for a fun night out with friends? Look no further than the Windom Art School. We can host your group of 4-6 people at $35/person. You can choose your creative topic for the event - painting, hand printing, handmade book arts, creative journaling, collage, experimental photography, fused glass, ceramics, etc. - and we’ll supply the instruction and the materials.
